Method of Extraction: Carbon dioxide (C02)

About CO2 Extraction
Carbon Dioxide, or CO2, occurs naturally in our environment: whenever we breathe, with decomposition, and even through ocean release. We find CO2 in our sodas and it’s used as an industrial solvent for creating everything from food extracts to fragrances. It’s known as ‘dry ice’ in its solid form. CO2 is considered safe by the FDA and non-toxic

The generic process is typically referred to as ‘supercritical CO2 extraction’ whereby CO2 is converted to its supercritical state (i.e., having liquid properties while remaining in a gaseous state) by applying very cold temps and pressure and is then used as a solvent to strip the resinous trichomes from the cannabis plant material. All of which occurs in a sophisticated CO2 extraction machine.

Revolution’s proprietary “Dragon Tears” refined, full spectrum cannabis extract

This product boasts a highly refined extract wherein the final product is, according to Rev, “100% Revolution cannabis” with zero foreign material or additives. My understanding is that the full spectrum of the terpenes & cannabinoids profiles are retained in the final product, which is what makes this product unique.

Delivery Method(s) Used:
Glass dab rig w/ a quartz nail  ***This product is activated so you can also take it orally.

How to Assemble & Use:
1. Unscrew the black top on the container, and then gently pull out the round, white plastic base at the bottom of the container to expose the metal dabber stem attachment.

2. Remove the clear, silicone stopper located at the top of the reservoir that holds the extract.

3. Turn the metal dabber stem counter-clockwise once to remove it from its holder.

4. Attach the dabber stem to the top of the extract reservoir by inserting it over the plastic male end and turning it once clockwise to secure it in place.

5.  Turn the extract reservoir counter-clockwise while holding the body of the container stationary to push the extract up and through the metal stem. You can turn in the opposite direction just a little to stop the flow.

Before you use the metal dabber stem to dab, make sure your nail is not too deep to accept the metal stem or the white plastic part of the stem may burn if you touch it to the side of a hot nail. I recommend using a separate dabber tool.

6. To store, you can simply put the white base on top of the metal stem and leave the container upright.

Cannabinoids Profile:
THCa 1.78%; THC 83.05%; CBDa 0%; CBD 0.37%; CBC 1.11%; CBG 1.10%; CBN .63% (LK Pure Labs)

As you can see from the cannabinoid profile, the THC in this product is already activated, which means you can also use it as an edible. For example, you could put it in hot tea. To learn how you can use this cannabinoids data to better your health, see the Cannabinoids Library.

Physical Characteristics:
Pristine, semi-opaque, gold-yellow with a sticky, gel-like consistency.

Terpene Profile:
The top three terpenes with the highest quantities present are highlighted in red text.

Alpha-Bisibolol 0.2715%Beta-Caryophyllene 0.3302%Fenchyl Alcohol 0.0150%; Alpha-Humulene 0.1080%Limonene 0.0151%; Linaloo1 0.0346%;  Beta-Myrcene 0.0262%; Nerolidol 0.0293%; Alpha-Pinene 0.0135%; Alpha-Terpineol 0.0589% (LK Pure Labs

In its intact state, this product emitted just a wisp of pine aroma. When dabbed, this sample tasted of a pine-cocoa combo up front, followed by an herbal musk on the exhale. The flavors were an interesting mix and seemed like a logical expression of the genetics, though the flavor intensity was quite muted. I expected more flavor than a typical CO2 extract, given the assumption that “full spectrum” means that much of the complete terpenes profile is retained in the final product. To make an experiential comparison, and I can only base this on specifically my palate from my own experiences, I find that high quality, butane-derived “live resin” extracts typically offer much more intensity and spectrum of flavor than CO2-derived extracts. Again, this is purely anecdotal and strictly my palate.

However, this product is different than some CO2-derived extracts in that it has been further refined, perhaps through a process called “winterization” using ethanol or some other method, which isn’t always done. The refinement process often results in reducing terpene counts. To compensate for this loss and to create a pure, flavorful and medicinally beneficial end product, I’m guessing Revolution thought it critical to make this a “full-spectrum” product so they could offer much more complete terpenes and cannabinoids profiles in the final extract.

I’m tellin’ ya, sometimes it ain’t easy doin’ these reviews and bein’ objective and whatnot but I think I pretnear done it just ‘bout every time so fer!

Low temperature dabbing is mandatory with this product to achieve a flavorful experience. I found that higher temps kill the flavor in this product. To learn how you can use this terpenes data to better your health, see the Terpenes Library.

The effects are a potent, balanced mind and body experience. This one has a delay of about 15 minutes and then it really asserts itself. Lots of euphoria along with about an equally intense body melt. The effects wind down nicely and end in an effective crash. Functional at low doses, but almost couch-lock at moderate-to-high dosages. Can get a little spacey at higher doses.  Quite potent for around 82% THC, which tells me that most likely those are the terpenes at work in there.

Duration of Effects:
2.5-3.5+ hours, depending on dosage

May Help With:
Helped with mood and mild G.I cramping.  May also help with depression, anxiety, mild and moderate pain, nausea, appetite (and more).

Rating: 3.5/5
A full-spectrum extract that was very clean and potent, though not much flavor expression.  For me, it didn't set itself apart as different from any other CO2 extract. I'd like to find out if other strains of this product better express their terps before making any final call. I know patients who use this product like its purity and flexibility because it is already activated.
