My little brother David, who is also a so called “medical cannabis patient”, has been bugging me to do a guest narration for a while now, so without further ado...
First off, I ain’t no stick-up-my-ass, by-the-book Dickey, okay. I’ve heard it all, seen it all, smoked it all and done it all! And won't bore you with some dumb cop story. Ya know what? I’m gonna offer up a little music to go with this devil’s vine strain, just like pairing wine with food, but without all the snobs. For this heirloom Thai strain, it’s a no-brainer: Pink Floyd’s 1967 Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
Just like this weed, man, Piper has all the answers of the universe if you can somehow tame the mysteries of its spiraling psychedelia. First song, ‘Astronomy Domine’, is a freakin shot between the 3rd damn eye, alright. About halfway through, just when you’ve got it all figured out, here comes ‘Interstellar Overdrive’. This ain’t the blues. It might burn into your brain forever. By the end, ‘I’ve Got a Bike’ is a welcome schizophrenic nursery rhyme. Trust me, Piper and this strain are a perfect combo. Or, you may say, "WTF is this trash I'm listening to?!"
Keep on burnin!
TIP: Get the original mono recording, not the later stereo version.

Genotype: Gold King Thai = 1979 Thai Stick Seed Stock
Cultivator: Bedford Grow
Purchase Date: 11/12/2016
Delivery Method(s) Used: Clean glass pipe
Cannabinoids Profile: THCa 24.12%; THC .80%; CBDa 0%; CBD 0% (LK Pure Labs)
TIP: To learn how you can use this cannabinoids data to better your health, see the Cannabinoids Library page.
Phenotype Profile: This is one pretty bud. Medium greens with loads of orange pistils weaved around large calyxes and a frosty glimmer of well-developed trichomes. Also, a surprisingly dense Sativa flower.
Bud Density: 4.5 [1-5]
Terpene Profile: In its intact state, this sample gave off floral and sweet-hash aromas with fruity notes. Once ground, this bud emitted strong sour fruit with sweet and floral traces. When smoked, this sample was a sweet-fruity commingling with floral and pungency on the exhale. For the experienced, you’ll certainly be able to recognize the Haze expression going on.
TIP: To learn all about terpenes, see the Terpenes Library page.
SIDEBAR: In the early 80s, I was able to get Thai sticks from S. Asia and I had plenty of the Thai heirlooms grown stateside back then. Those Thai flowers from the 80s were generally spicier and sweeter than the modern-day Thai strains I’ve had here. That said, this Thai example did a very good job of exhibiting many of those Thai characteristics that I was familiar with in my youth.
Effects: Potent cerebral euphoria. Like other Thai strains, you get a jolt of energy, but not a lot of focus. For me, Thai strains offer a great combination of effects for having fun or focusing on distracting leisure activities, like watching a movie or playing video games. At high doses this strain might cause some raciness and/or spaciness.
Duration of Effects: 2 hours
May Help With: Helped with mood, energy and post-operative pain from minor hand surgery. May also help with depression and anxiety (at low & moderate doses), stress, appetite (and more)
I give this flower high marks for its wonderful nostalgic accuracy, its potency and perfect physical characteristics. This was a superb example of a Thai strain.

This strain and Piper are both trips worth taking.
And remember, the next time you turn around, turn around again...’cause I’ll be there.
