I encountered all the predictable calls that I usually do on Super Bowl Sunday: the bar fights, the DWIs and the domestic disturbances. Now, something else happened to me on Sunday night that I’m not very proud to admit at all, but here goes...
A taxi driver waves me over and tells me a 20-something, male drunk just stiffed him for a $30 fare after he dropped him off at a convenience store a few blocks down. I get to the store and I spot the guy hanging out inside the place. I enter the store and confront him. Long story made short, the kid doesn’t comply, flips out inside the store and trashes the place. I end up having to tase this drunk just to cuff him and put him in the back of the cruiser.
After gathering information from the store employees and owner, I head back to the car and the kid’s not there. He. is. freaking. gone! Still in handcuffs, it didn’t take K-9 long to find him hiding in a nearby dumpster. I’ve never had a perp pull a Houdini on me before, ever.
We get back to the scene, and I ask the kid how he did it. The kid says, “That cage in the back is held on by only a couple of flimsy screws. I just put my feet through the cuffs, pulled off one end of the cage and then crawled out through the open driver’s side window.”
“That’s pretty clever,” I say. “Yeah,” he says, “I saw somebody do it on that show, Cops.”

This sample joint didn’t emit much aroma on its own; just a wisp of earth and pine. When I pulled on the unlit joint, there was little flavor beyond a generic herbal cannabis taste. When smoked, this joint tasted very, very lightly of lemon, haze and earth. Overall, the joint tasted as if a mix of bud and trim or sugar leaves were used, but that’s just a hunch based on experience.
Freshness: The key quality indicators for a pre-roll are aroma, flavor and expression of effects, which for an experienced user are typically good indicators for freshness and quality of the plant material.
In the case of this joint, the freshness was noticeably lacking. The aromas and flavors were extremely subdued and the plant material seemed quite harsh and overly dry. Pennywise is typically a smooth, full-flavored smoke.
Effects: The initial effects were low-intensity cerebral and reminded me of a mild Haze buzz. After about 10-15 minutes, I could feel very noticeable CBD calming effects that helped to melt away stress and physical tenseness. At just around 7% THC, the effects were quite mild, but still effective.
Duration of Effects: 1 hour
May Help With: Helped with mood and mild cervical spine nerve pain. May also help with arthritis, PTSD, epilepsy, neurological disorders, cancer symptoms (and more)
This pre-roll was overly dry, resulting in a big loss of terps and smoothness. Effects were also a little too short lived, even at these low numbers.

And remember, the next time you turn around, turn around again ...'cause I’ll be there.
