Hello to all you lovers of the devil’s vine. I’ve emerged from my deep cover assignment and I"m back out there on the beat.

While I can’t discuss any details of my deep cover work, I can disclose the following:

The chair is against the wall, the chair is against the wall. John has a long mustache, John has a long mustache.

Type: 100% Sativa Thai Landrace or Mexican Landrace / Thai Landrace Sativa Cross

Purple Thai  =  A Thailand Landrace  OR  Oaxacan Gold  X  Chocolate Thai

My research indicates that Purple Thai is a landrace strain and one of the oldest native Thai cannabis strains. It is in fact a 100% Sativa Thai Landrace strain. It seems there are two phenotypes of this landrace: One phenotype has a purple shimmer on the leaves and flowers while the other cut exhibits darker green leaves with heavy trich coverage.

Anesia Seeds offers a
Purple Thai cut. Now, when I read their own description of the genetics, I don't see anywhere mention of Oaxacan Gold or Chocolate Thai. And to point out the obvious, it would be impossible for Purple Thai to be a landrace and have any Mexican genetics. So it seems that Anesia Seeds offers a true PT landrace in which the high THC content was stabilized using "different specialized breeding methods".  When it first emerged in recent MMJ market, a cut was sometimes referred to as ‘Oregon Purple Thai (OPT)’. Legendary breeder DJ Short has developed various Thai strains, too, including his own cut of Purple Thai.

I’m unsure if this example is the true landrace, the Mexican / Thai cross or some other current phenotype.

NOTE: I had the pleasure of experiencing various Thai strains as heirlooms many times back in the early 80s. This cut was very reminiscent of those buds back then in terms of structure, terpenes, potency and unique effects.

Phenotype Profile
: Relatively small, tight buds of bright greens and orange hairs with decent trich  coverage.
          Bud Density: 4    [1-5]

Terpene Profile
: In their intact state, the buds smell of pungent sweetness with floral notes.  Once ground, the pungency and floral qualities heightened. The smoke was smoother than I anticipated and tasted sweet and floral followed by a mostly herbal flavor on the exhale.

NOTE: I did not detect any coffee, nutty or chocolate aromas and flavors in this particular cut. I mention this because some reviewers have described Purple Thai as having some of these flavors (i.e., pheno with the Chocolate Thai).

: Dizzying cerebral euphoria that’s full of trippy energy though probably not focused energy for most. Instead, it’s a wandering, potent cerebral experience with a mild-to-moderate psychedelic element at higher doses. There's also a creeper element, too. A classic Thai strain experience in every way. New users should be aware that this strain has the potential for some raciness.

Duration of Effects

: Helped with mood, appetite and energy. May also help with depression, fatigue and stress (and more)

A satisfying dose of nostalgia that took me right back to my squandered youth. The effects are potent and complex.

Pardon the cryptics, but I assumed none of you blazers wanted to be fitted for cement shoes anytime soon.

And remember, the next time you turn around, turn around again...’cause I’ll be there.
