Case: Purple Thai Wax (extract)

File Date: 03/27/2018

Case No: 0186

Method of Extraction: Butane

Form: Wax

Type: 100% Sativa Thai Landrace, or Mexican Landrace / Thai Landrace Sativa Cross

Genotype:  Thai Landrace  or  Oaxacan Gold X Chocolate Thai or Some other unknown cut

My research indicates that Purple Thai is a landrace strain and one of the oldest native Thai cannabis strains. It is in fact a 100% Sativa Thai Landrace strain. It seems there are two phenotypes of this landrace: One phenotype has a purple shimmer on the leaves and flowers while the other cut exhibits darker green leaves with heavy trich coverage.

Anesia Seeds offers a Purple Thai cut. When I read their own description of their genetics, I don't see anywhere mention of Oaxacan Gold or Chocolate Thai. And to point out the obvious, it would be impossible for Purple Thai to be a landrace and have any Mexican genetics. So it seems that Anesia Seeds offers a true PT landrace in which the high THC content was stabilized using "different specialized breeding methods".  When it first emerged in the recent MMJ market, a cut was sometimes referred to as ‘Oregon Purple Thai (OPT)’. Legendary breeder DJ Short has developed various Thai strains, too, including his own cut of Purple Thai.

I don't know if this extract was made using the true landrace, the Mexican / Thai cross or some other current phenotype.

Characteristics: This sample consisted of a soft, light caramel colored wax. This was a clean looking wax.

Terpene Profile:
I did not request the lab report for this sample, so I will not be providing the specific terpene levels for this product.

This sample smelled herbal with floral notes.  When dabbed, I tasted a sweet-floral-herbal combo, with an earth-herbal flavor on the exhale. Exotic and on-point.

Low temperature dabbing is mandatory to achieve the most flavorful and potent experience. To learn how you can use this terpenes data to better your health, see the Terpenes Library.

A more intense version of the flower. Dizzying cerebral euphoria that’s full of trippy energy though probably not focused energy for most. Instead, it’s a wandering, potent cerebral experience with a mild-to-moderate psychedelic element at higher doses. There's also a creeper element, too. A classic Thai strain experience in every way.

Duration of Effects:
2-3+ hours, depending on dosage

May Help With:
Helped with mood, appetite and energy. May also help with depression, fatigue and stress (and more)

Rating: 4/5
This Purple Thai wax is a very good translation of PTS’ flower by the same name.
