Tangerine Dream Shatter
"O.B.C.T" By Sleaford Mods
Method of Extraction: Either CO2 or Butane. I did not verify with PTS. In this case, I’m going to guess CO2, but I could be wrong.
Type: Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approximately 60%/40%)
Genotype: Tangerine Dream = G13 X Afghan X Neville’s A5 Haze
Barney’s Farm is the original breeder.
Cultivator: Progressive Treatment Solutions
Purchased On: 03/03/2019
Manufactured On: 01/31/2018
Packaged On: 02/13/2019
This shatter was packaged in a vinyl sheet, which I really liked. Very effective and less packaging is always better.
Delivery Method(s) Used: clean, glass dab rig and a quartz nail
TIP: To learn how you can use this cannabinoids data to better your health, see the Cannabinoids Library.
Characteristics: Semi-opaque, gold and without visible impurities.
Terpene Profile: I did not request the lab report for this sample, so I will not be providing specific terpene levels for this product.
In its intact state, this sample emitted no discernable aromas but for a wisp of citrus. When dabbed, I tasted a subdued citrus/tangie flavor with a hint of Hazey influence. Unfortunately, this batch of shatter didn’t offer a full terpenes expression of this strain, which is often an inherent problem with the shatter form depending partly upon the solvent and method(s) being used.
TIP: To learn about terpenes, see the Terpenes Library.
Effects: The effects were a potent offering of the Tangerine Dream strain; at once a classic body stone that feels almost equal part pleasant energy. I did find these effects to be ‘flatter’ and less nuanced than my prior experiences with this strain and its many relatives, like you’d get with a non-live resin cannabis vape oil. My guess is that it’s probably the result of a lower total terpene count.
Duration: 2 hours
May Help With: Helped with mood. May also help with appetite, stress, depression, mild pain (and more)
This sample of Tangerine Dream shatter was a bit underwhelming in the terps category, which often happens with shatters. That said, PTS used to do a Tangerine Haze bud & extract that was truly outstanding (not sure if they're still growing that strain). Could be that this is a different cut of the Tangerine Haze or maybe a parent of this Tangerine Dream.
